Mansfield ISD

Mansfield Independent School District is a split 5A/6A with pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, and Grades 1-12. The district covers 94.5-square miles, including all of Mansfield, along parts of Arlington, Grand Prairie, Burleson, Fort Worth, Venus, Alvarado, and Kennedale. 

To prepare students wishing to further their educational journey or looking to enter a career upon graduation, the district features two standalone STEM Academies, a CTE Academy, and an Early College High School in addition to its five traditional high schools. 

The Mansfield Independent School District also augments the area’s talent pool with early career, college, and life-readiness training and programs through its Phoenix Academy and Ben Barber Innovation Academy.  


In addition to public education, Mansfield offers a number of private institutions, faith-based schools, and preparatory academies.

Advancing Skills

For workers in Mansfield looking to advance their current skillsets or who wish to seek training or certifications in preparation for a new career, there is a wide range of programs available:

Local employment resources partnering with businesses and community groups to help  workers find employment and connect talent with employers looking to hire. Other WSTC programs focus on Adult Education & Literacy, with career training courses for working toward recognized certifications and credentials.

The TWC provides services and programs for workers and employers, along with community outreach and special initiatives and programs. Just some of its services  include internships and apprenticeships, adult learning opportunities, job retraining, grants for small businesses, special programs for veterans, and childcare scholarships.

The WIOA looks to the support the U.S. labor market through high-quality education and job training, employment programs, grants, and services for youths and adults through state and local workforce development channels. 

MISD offers the Mansfield GO2 (Grow Our Own) Program, a professional training academy for district employees. MISD also makes available a Transition to Teach Scholarship program to help paraprofessionals earn their teaching certifications at night and in the summer while maintaining their day job.

Free program with educational resources for adults preparing for college or the workforce. ASVAB Preparation Course and the C.O.S.T. Program. 

The YMCA’s Workplace Wellness program focuses on employee wellness and community engagement through corporate memberships partnerships for employees.

This non-profit, faith-based organization serving the Tarrant County workforce area offers free classes, career services, employability skills, and high school equivalency test preparation.

The Mansfield Public Library provides English as a Second Language (ESL) Classes, General Educational Development (GED) resources, preparation instruction, and test locations. Additionally, it also helps students through a number of available online resources.
